Program Educational Objectives

The Industrial Engineering Program at ITAM considers its Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) are achieved when the Program’s constituencies recognize that a graduate possesses the attitudes, skills and knowledge to:

  1. Attain professional accomplishments within his/her professional activities (Industry, academy or entrepreneurial venues).
  2. Deploy professional competencies and problem solving skills.
  3. Maintain an interest in expanding and improving his/her professional competencies.
  4. Show outstanding societal, civic and professional awareness.

Student Outcomes

The IE Program is committed to the students’ attainment of the skills, knowledge, and attitudes associated with the following Student Outcomes (SOs):

  1. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.
  2. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  3. An ability to design and improve an integrated system (people, materials, info, etc.), component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
  4. An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
  5. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve organizational problems using the industrial engineering approaches and techniques.
