LACChain is a global alliance made up of different actors in the blockchain environment, led by the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB Lab) for the development of the blockchain ecosystem in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its objective is to accelerate the enablement and adoption of blockchain technology in the region for the promotion of innovation, the reduction of economic, social, gender and any other inequalities, the promotion of the quality and safety of the jobs, promoting financial inclusion, consumer protection and market integrity.
ITAM, a Mexican university of excellence founded in 1946 with headquarters in Mexico City and whose community stands out for its leadership in whatever sector they work in, has joined the LACChain Global Alliance.
In alliance with ITAM, it will seek to develop opportunities for strengthening capacities and collaboration to promote and promote the regulation of the use of blockchain with the aim of impacting the inclusion of populations, making them participants in citizen decisions and policies.
Some of the objectives of the alliance include:
- ITAM will include in its blockchain-related courses the LACChain network as one of the reference architectures in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
- LACChain will include ITAM in the working groups related to the areas of its specialization.
- Creation of a reference program for students to carry out internships in network projects and to facilitate connection with entities within the LACChain community.
- Holding workshops on blockchain and other relevant topics.
