ITAM and its community mourns the sad passing of Dr. Enrique de Alba Guerra. Dear and admired Emeritus Professor who acted as Dean of the Division of Actuarial Sciences, Statistics and Mathematics at ITAM for many years. 

This institute owes a lot to Dr. de Alba due to his priceless contributions to the qualitative areas of many programs. He was the founder of the Undergraduate Programs of Mathematics and Actuarial Science and the Master’s Programs in Insurance and Risk Management. 

Among other things, Enrique de Alba was a passionate admirer of William Shakespeare’s works, dear professor of many generations of ITAM students, introducer of bayesian statistics in actuarial issues and a leader in the mexican actuarial community.
