We congratulate Isabel Morales Pasantes, alumna of the Economics Undergraduate Program at ITAM, in her appointment as the new Chief Cashier of Banxico.

Isabel Morales Pasantes has made history by being appointed as the new Chief Cashier of Banco de México. This means that Isabel will be the first woman in 99 years since the foundation of Banco de Mexico and 55 years since the foundation of the banknote printing works in Mexico City to sign paper currency that circulates around the country.

With this appointment, Isabel will be in charge of calculating the national economy’s cash requirements, as well as the coordination of cash distribution operations throughout the country. Besides, she will continue to be in charge of the Cash Programming and Distribution area, a position she has held since 2012.

Congratulations Isabel Morales Pasantes for this historical appointment!
